The World’s Smallest Bratfest, Coming Up

Summertime in the neighborhood, and the Regent Market Co-op is right there for you.

It goes beyond sponsoring what has turned into one of Madison’s most talked about events, the annual July 4th egg toss (Sly in the Morning listeners know what I’m talking about). Now we even cook dinner for you! Yes, about once a month we’ve been setting up the grill in front of the store, lighting the fire and cooking up batches of our famous regular brats and our chicken-apple brats, both made fresh right in the store, and veggie dogs too.

It might just be the world’s smallest bratfest. Co-op staff and board members will be out again on Wednesday, August 25th to rescue you from the perils and discomfort of a hot kitchen. Stop on by and try the best brats in the city, cooked to perfection by the experts. There’s not a better dinner deal in town.

Why are we doing this? Well, we make a small amount of money for the store, and maybe attract some attention from people driving by who experience a sudden mysterious craving for bratwurst. But mostly it’s because we are always looking for ways to strengthen our ties to the neighborhood.

It’s the same reason we deliver groceries on request, employ neighborhood teenagers, do special and bulk orders and stock items our members ask for. We want the store to continue to be a vital part of the neighborhood for many years to come, and we’re working hard to make ourselves indispensable and to distinguish ourselves from other grocers in the area.

So do buy a brat, and while you’re at it, tell us what we can do to make the store better from your point of view. From all of us, thanks for your membership, and we hope to see you soon.
